Faraway Bay – Scenic Holiday Retreat

The Faraway Bay Experience offers one of the most remote wilderness retreats in the world. Faraway Bay combines pure comfort and relaxation, with scenic holiday retreat and bush environment simplicity.

It’s a truly unique and awe-inspiring Australian outback experience. Exclusive and personalised with small numbers. An experience of a lifetime like no other! There is nothing else to compare to this retreat that offers a true authentic Kimberley experience.

Although simple, Faraway Bay provides unrivalled luxury, with eight spacious cabins scattered among natural bush. These offer unrivalled privacy and 180-degree views of a spectacular cliff-lined bay. Cocooned in this natural environment, there is nothing to distract you from absorbing the extraordinary sights, sounds and magic of this isolated slice of the Kimberley.

Explore the region’s rare natural wonders and discover the secrets of this ancient landscape. Marvel at the iconic King George Falls during our boat trip up to the falls. Be spellbound by Ice Age rock art. Sightsee by foot, 4WD or boat. Fish to your heart’s content. Bird watch or meet the local wildlife. Dine on freshly-caught seafood and local produce. Beachcomb then lounge, stargaze, and lounge some more!

At Faraway Bay, a few days can feel like a week, and a week can change the way you feel forever.

“Thank you to Kevin and Gemma for allowing us to share this magnificent and unique piece of Australian Paradise. We are in awe of the many skills and the unrelenting hard work you both put in to making our stay so pleasurable and special. Kevin’s endless patience with two novice fisherman/woman was also greatly appreciated. We wish Kevin and Faraway Bay all the very best for the future. Really hope we will return soon.”

John & Jennie, Yowie Bay, NSW October 2014

“Last entry for the year and what can we say that hasn’t already been said! Thanks Kevin and Gemma for the best 4 days holiday we remember. The fishing was great fun and Jennie caught half of the largest Barra imaginable (ask Kev for the details!)”

Peter & Sandy Morrow, Red Hill, Qld, July 16

“We are so excited to have experienced Faraway Bay.  It encapsulates so many values we treasure – pristine environment, remote and undeveloped, nature in all it’s glory. We enjoy the seclusion and peace that is difficult to experience in our ‘normal’ lives. But more than this – we have been moved by the passion and commitment you have shared with us whether discussing rock art, nature, history or great meals & conversations They may be old school values, but they resonate deeply with us and we are all richer for it. The sharing  of time together  in a timeless land is the most rewarding and enriching experience. Thank you, we will never forget this, with love “

John Platten, Gunns Plains, Tasmania, June 2016

1000 thank yous.  What a great trip. Rock Art Retreat 2016. The best thing for me was the hours of conversation with Ju Ju and me asking probably silly questions but most always getting answers and sometimes one of her great laugh out loud laughs. The art of course was more than I had hoped and quite a range of styles in addition to the Bradshaws which were the main driver for me.   Such an amazing wealth in so small an area.Too bad about the salties as would probably have enjoyed a snorkel around some of the rocks.  Can’t have it all though.  Great meals, great art, great company and perfect weather – the 110% effort.    Thanks to all involved.
