Faraway Bay is home to one of the Kimberley region’s most prolific collections of Indigenous rock art, including extraordinary examples of the mysterious Bradshaw art.
Immerse yourself in this fascinating ancient world at our exclusive ‘Rock Art Retreat’. This unique cultural experience will be led by respected and well known Aboriginal elder Ju Ju ‘Buriwee’ Wilson, and internationally-renowned archaeologist Lee Scott-Virtue.
You’ll be taken on a journey of discovery and amazement to sites often situated within unusual geological rock formations. These breathtaking locations are some of the Kimberley’s most secluded and unique, and are usually not accessed by the general public.
Back at Eagle Lodge, be captivated by the storytelling of Ju Ju as she paints. A talented artist herself, Ju Ju is fascinating to watch and to listen to.
Take a tour around the camp to learn about traditional bush tucker and bush medicine. Ju Ju and Lee will show you how food was gathered by Indigenous people many years ago and introduce you to the plants used to create traditional medicines.
Do as little or as much as you like during your stay. There will be plenty of time to enjoy all the usual Faraway Bay activities. Relax, swim in our spring-fed rock pool, fish, explore, and soak up the magic of Faraway Bay.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience something truly magical. Something that few others ever have.
